The next time you see a tattoo (or pierced body part) on somebody, describe it in detail and then write the story of the tattoo. Why did s/he have it made? Why exactly there? Add all details you can think of.

My friend Lauren, who recently lost her mother, decided to go and get a tattoo of her mother’s favorite flower. I thought that this was a wonderful decision and the tattoo turned out beautiful. She had the tattoo artist draw a sunflower with her mother’s date of birth and date of death right underneath the sunflower. Lauren decided to have the tattoo drawn on her right shoulder blade because her mother had a tattoo in the exact same spot. Before the loss of her mother, she was so terrified to get a tattoo because she was afraid that it would hurt. Shortly after returning home from Maryland, Lauren left one day and came back with a tattoo. I believe that she made an excellent decision because she has made a tribute to her mother’s life with her tattoo.
